What is Particulate Matter?
Particulate Matter (PM) are tiny particles floating in the air. They range in size from microscopic particles to particles large enough to be seen by the naked eye. When breathing, we take PM into our lungs, causing a range of health problems. The smaller the particle, the more dangerous it is since it can infiltrate farther into a lung than a larger particle. Exposure to PM has a wide range of health affects, from coughing and asthma to cancer.
Particulate Matter in households is not uncommon. Dust, pollen, and pet dander are common particles in indoor air, and weekly house cleaning is the best way to remove these from your environment.
